The Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office (KMC) announces scholarship opportunities for students enrolling in grade 11 at teaching institutions under KMC. Scholarships will be awarded based on an open competition through written exams. The application process and schedule for exams are as follows:
Applications can be submitted online through the Metropolitan Corporation website or at entrance.kathmandu.gov.np. The examination will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions based on the class 10 syllabus of the secondary level.

- Each program carries 100 marks.
- Duration: 2 hours.
- Candidates can apply for only one academic subject.
- Application Fee: Free
- Note: The online form allows for editing and previewing before submission. After submission, corrections can only be made upon request by the Metropolitan Municipality via email.
- Minimum 1.6 GPA in SEE.
- Must have studied and completed SEE in a community school.
- Must have a birth certificate, citizenship, or immigration certificate for permanent residents of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
- Permanent residents of Ward No. 1, 2, 3 of Kakani Rural Municipality, Nuwakot District, and Ward No. 1, 3, 4 of Dhuniveshi Municipality, Dhading District affected by the landfill site.
- Students who studied in institutional schools till class 10 on scholarship.
- Question Format: Multiple choice.
- Subjects: 30 questions each from compulsory mathematics, science, and English, and 10 questions from general knowledge.
- Passing Marks: Minimum 40% required.
- No negative marking for wrong answers.

- Passport size photograph
- Citizenship or Birth Registration Certificate
- SEE Character Certificate, Transfer Certificate, or Recommendation Letter from School
- Recommendation Letter as per Schedule 1 (for public school students)
- Recommendation Letter as per Schedule 2 (for scholarship students in institutional schools)
- Certificates/ Recommendation for reserved groups
- Certificates/Recommendation for permanent residents and landfill-side residents
- Form Availability: City website (www.kathmandu.gov.np) or entrance.kathmandu.gov.np.
- Priority Selection: Choose a preferred school based on the subject.
- False Details: Application and admission will be cancelled if found false.
- Filling Details: Fill in SEE exam details first. Once matched, fill in personal details for the application.
- Preview and Submission: Review details, make corrections if needed, and submit. No changes after submission.
- Uploading Documents: Upload photos and documents via mobile.
- Confirmation Page: Print and download the confirmation page (Note: This is not the Admit Card).
- Final Confirmation: Sent after verification by the department.
Details regarding the school scholarship quota and examination centres will be published later. Students are advised to apply for admission only after the publication of the scholarship results. Procedures to facilitate scholarships cannot be implemented for students admitted before the publication of the results.
